Railway Electrification

With our wide range of switchgears for 15kV and 25kV overhead line traction systems, we are able to provide customers with the right solution for railway electrification.

 

Our product range includes disconnectors for visible electrical isolation of catenary sections, load break switches for making/breaking under load and earthing switches for the secure grounding of voltage free overhead line (OHL) sections.

 

Depending on the application and system design we provide rocker and knife type switches , fitted with porcelain or silicon isolators; suitable for outdoor use.

 

To automatically operate the switches and to simplify integration into remote monitoring and control systems we also provide actuating systems (e.g. motor drives) and accessories.

 

For powering local, low voltage, equipment like point heating and signalling systems we also offer single phase auxiliary supply transformers.

In order to disconnect and isolate a catenary section into a visible de-energised state we offer a variety of robust and reliable disconnectors in three different form factors.

For the disconnection and isolation of a catenary section under load we offer a variety of robust and reliable load break switches. In order to avoid arcing at the main contact each switch contains an arc quenching chamber.

A matching actuating system enables reliable manual or motorised operation of the switches. Whether by use of a rigid or flexible linkage, our motor drives offer many options in order to meet the most demanding requirements.
